Fun Etsy Finds

Garlands are so fun and super easy to make! But if you don't have the time or inclination to make them yourself here are some that are awfully cute and mostly reasonably priced....

Brother Clothes

Beatrice has no idea what "brother" means, but she loves modeling all these wonderful new items we call "brother clothes." I went through my parents' attic and retrieved clothed from three categories: clothes Beatrice wore that were either gender neutral or boyish, clothes my brothers wore that are now practically vintage, clothes that Aunt Joanna sent to us from her nanny position that I would never be able to afford (Oilily brand and various french names!). Also, I keep Goodwill in business, people. Seriously, I should get the Most Frequent Customer plaque.

Yard Sale Finds!

So I didn't actually get that much this weekend, but I'm happy with my finds!

I plan on going with a pink christmas tree this year- yes, a big old fake christmas tree! I think these green balls will look nice and what a great vintage find, huh? The little dishes match nicely too!

And I found some sweet clothes for the boy!

Makes me laugh!

If I take off Bea's diaper and say, "Go pee pee!" she runs into the bathroom and I lift her up and she sits there. But she doesn't go pee pee.

Ah, well- she's only 14 months. At least she's starting to understand what it's all about.

Look What I Made!

I actually bought this pattern from etsy. It was very easy to follow and I only had to print one page! These came together in no time at all and I had so much fun that I made a second pair this evening.

The fabric is by Kaffe Fassett. Love!

Nursery Update!

Okay, I just had to get rid of the pink stripes in the nursery! As much as I loved them and as cute as they were, they had to go. What boy wants to grow up beneath a cascade of pink stripes? I painted the wall blue and James took some pictures!

Here's what the nursery looked like before:

Work in progress:

Voila!

It's not nearly done, though. (The things on the wall are not in their final places- I just couldn't have them leaning against the wall for Beatrice to destroy.) I still have the bright red twin bed to add and all sorts of touches to make it a room for two little kids. One side for the girl and one side for the boy! But the color is just what I wanted!

Accessory Obsession: Kittens

No, I'm not a cat lady, but I suppose if they didn't have claws, didn't poop and always stayed tiny I probably would be!
