I did a photo series (using google maps [huh?]) for my photography class. I traveled to Hiroshima and Nagasaki and looked at the memorials. It was really moving. I ended up jumping in and doing some research which led to (for me) surprising results.

  1. I got to visit Hiroshima a couple of years ago, and was so moved by what a beautiful memorial park they have built. Thousands of schoolchildren fold paper cranes and send them all year round, and they hang in enormous bunches, like multicoloured bananas, all over the place. The city is dedicated to peace.
