As Promised!

Our family portrait and some additional shots. I love these!
The last one is my favorite! Those two are so cute I can hardly stand it!

Check back later today because......

Last week, we all three marched down to Sears Portrait Center in our fancy (and color-coordinated) clothes and had a family portrait made! I love family portraits. So formal and stiff. Unfortunately, I have to warn you- For some reason, my smile got a little out of control. From the looks of it, you would think Pam, the photographer, was Jerry Seinfeld in person.

Here are some family portraits from google to get you in the mood.

Mid-Century Modern

Last night we watched A New Kind Of Love, starring Paul Newman and his wife of 49 years Joanne Woodward. I just wanted to dive right in, the style was so perfect. Now, when I look at images of mid-century modern design, I will imagine this lovely couple lounging or posing.

Love This Movie!

Yesterday was one of those days in which one has boundless creativity and random, unexplained bursts of euphoria. Don't you love those days? It was beautiful outside, too. After a nice walk with some friends, Beatrice settled for a long afternoon nap. I opened the window in the bedroom and poured boxes and boxes of fabric onto the bed. Then, I made myself a little nest in the mountain and got to work with my scissors and pincushion and needles. While I worked I watched Science of Sleep. It is a story of rejection, but it is still quite lovely and really captures the way dreams feel.

Do you like to have a movie play sometimes when you make things? I can become very distracted , so a movie blocks out all the other noises and I just listen rather than watch. Sometimes I would look up and catch part of a scene, too. But I realized there were whole sections I completely missed!

One Year Old......

.....Already? Oh, Beatrice, you were so little. Just a tiny, sweet bundle, warm and soft in my arms. You made funny noises and squirmed. You couldn't control where your limbs went. We called you our little grub worm.
How did you grow so fast?
Now you can almost walk! You are such a big girl, so brave and adventurous. Where will you go?
I love you, Beatrice!
