My Sister

This is my sister Isobel:

She is twenty three and 5'5'' tall, lives at home and goes to college locally. She cooks for the household (there are 9 people) and is dedicated to changing the decor in her room almost constantly. I think that room has probably been painted twenty times since I moved out and she took it over! Isobel is possibly Beatrice's favorite person.  This is what her hair used to look like:

Her hair is currently fairly short, but she's growing it out. She's dying to have long hair again, so she takes vitamins and uses special shampoo to promote faster growth. There's always been a bit of a competition between us to have longer hair than the other.
Isobel comes over on Wednesdays. We play with Bea and hang out and make a big dinner. Tonight we are making Chicken Cordon Bleu.

Idea

Beatrice is going to move up to a twin bed before too long to make room for the new baby (who is currently about the size of an apple). This is a bit of a jump for a girl so small. She will only be 18 months when the baby arrives. Anyway, I'll have to totally re-do the room, but I want it to still be natural and comfortable to Beatrice. SOOOO, I am going to make a big old twin size quilt for her out of her special things. The blankets we swaddled her in, the dresses she's outgrown, etc. I think it will be a wonderful thing for her to carry through life!

I rarely buy something awesome for Beatrice to rock. Usually I have a lot of self-control and tell myself it will someday show up at the local Goodwill. This was too good to pass up!

The Big Announcement!

Someone is coming to join our family! Will it be a boy or girl? We don't know. And we won't know... until June 7th when we have the big ultrasound. The little one is scheduled to arrive in early October.
