I had an image in my head of a painting I wanted for the lounge so I made it yesterday. I want to decorate mostly with prints, but a large painting can really say something. And I super-much enjoy working on a larger scale. Also, color blocking is fun, fun, fun.
I made another smaller one to tie things together a bit:

Say Something About This Video
Right now, we are watching the Mel Gibson Hamlet. It's just about to the To Be Or Not To Be speech. Above is my interpretation. I think mine is better because Mel's is a bit moody and overwrought. And it's Shakespeare so I think it's heavy enough without the overacting.

Update!
I've been so busy settling into this new house that I've neglected my online existence! There's still a ton to do (and lots of shopping left... I made the mistake of browsing the Anthro website at work *drool*), but I've made some definite progress. For instance, I checked craigslist first thing this morning and found the cutest dining table with two chairs. Extremely affordable and aligned perfectly with my vision. I got it.
That last one makes me want a puppy for Bea. Her birthday is coming up pretty soon, you know.... But I'm pretty sure she will have to make do with some dress-up clothes and a toy tractor.
The first image reminds me of the book I am currently reading and greatly enjoying, King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard. Perhaps you have seen the movie. I have not, but Jerry says it is really great. Speaking of which, because I have so much liked working with Jerry this tax season, I may or may not have suggested that he and his wife and James and I all go out to Della Ventura's for pizza.
I finally had a chance this evening to sit down with my glass of merlot and google reader and have a little me time. So much lovely and inspiring imagery! I saved a few of my faves to share with you. It's kind of a random mix,
but,
yeah,
whatever.

I Love Monday!
I usually don't, but this week Monday means the weekend is finally over! Our move was great (thanks to all our friends!!!), but very tiring. There's still a long way to go setting up, cleaning, organizing, shopping, before it will really feel like home. We already love this house, though. And I'll show you our before pictures so you can see why.
Ambrose seems pretty happy with his new home:
looking from the kitchen, through the dining room, into the living room
looking from the nursery through the hall (I have a cute rug for that), into the master
the unfortunate curtains in the master bedroom

Moving!
Dear Readers,
Today we are moving to our new home so things will be crazy for us for awhile. Don't be surprised if I am absent for a few days.
Love,
Lily
