Goal 6: Start a Drawing Club

Okay, this is ambitious, I know. We are all so busy. But how hard would it be to get together once or twice a month, in the evening or on the weekend, and draw? Just sit and draw. Maybe drink some wine, eat some snacks. Talk about art and check out each others recent work. I think it would be a great thing! Anyone could join. 

We could take turns modeling for each other or set up a still life (unless we had an overdose in art school and find still-lives murderously boring. And I can totally understand that! Ms. Teresa at Converse killed us with those bottles and gourds.).

Goal 5: Do Fun Photo-shoots with James

We did this awesome photo-shoot in 2010. That night is one of my best memories of the past year. SO MUCH FUN. The pictures are really goofy, but we really got into it and laughed like never before! I need that more often!

Goal 4: Make Drawing a Habit

It's so hard to find time to draw, but if I can find time to check facebook, I can MAKE time to draw, right? Right! I think I might need an accountability partner for this and I have someone in mind...

I'll share my drawings with you here if I make any good ones!

 

Goal 3: Create a unique look for each member of the family

This is purely for fun! I love sewing clothes and I like the challenge of making something for each of us that fits our personalities as well as our figures. 

For James, I'm thinking something silver and glittery that he can wear onstage.  With sequins most likely. Hand-sewn couture is the only way with that one, you know.

For myself, I dress. A pretty dress. A dress too pretty to just wear around the house or out to get groceries. A little number with some frill to it.

For Beatrice, hmmmm. Okay, for the kids I'll make something embarrassingly matchy-matchy that they will hate when they see pictures in years to come! (Just kidding! I can't plan their looks because they change so quickly when they are this young. I'll have to base their looks on the way they are when I sit down to sew!)

Goal 1: Do 12 Paintings

That's a painting a month. Of course if I finish one and want to start another before the next month, whatever. I want these paintings to be a coherent series. Themes and subject matter have yet to be decided although I have some ideas.

I'm planning on working largely on wood. And I want to do big paintings- maybe a 24"x24" minimum? I may sketch them out on paper or smaller pieces of wood.
