What He Wore :: Gypsy Prince

It's gotten darn cold around here in just the past few nights. We've been bundling up because the heating system has some kinks we have to work out. Ambrose picked out his own clothes and I added the coat. Even if the skirt offends you, you have to admit that he's pretty adorable.

Easter, Part II

We had two Easter dinners- one with his fam and one on mine. I contributed a vegan chocolate cake. Let me just go ahead and say this: I am not good at bundt pans. Don't worry, there are no pictures. Just family pictures! This is what we wore to dinner. The kids were so cuddly in their fancies!!!
 Notice Bea's curlers. :)

Fashionista Boy

Ambrose found this Harajuku Mini outfit at Target and had to have it. Like, he wouldn't even let go of it for the cashier to scan the tag. As soon as we got home, he needed to wear it. I sure am glad he has good tate. :)

What He Wore: Stripes

James wore this amazingly fabulous blazer on Christmas to the get-together with my side. (These pictures aren't from Christmas though.) It is a ladies blazer from the 1960s- aren't the colors great? The jeans were thrifted and decorated by Beatrice with crayon. The shoes are 60s era Hi Brows- very patriotic.

James isn't really the What He Wore type; He even blogged about it on his tumblr. I'm unsure, as usual, whether that semi-colon ought to be a full-on colon. Can never remember that rule! (internetting interlude)Turns out it should be a full-on colon, but I'm not going to change it. Instead, I shall now share rule 4, brought to us by Mr. Google:

Rule 4

Use a colon instead of a semicolon between two sentences when the second sentence explains or illustrates the first sentence and no coordinating conjunction is being used to connect the sentences. If only one sentence follows the colon, do not capitalize the first word of the new sentence. If two or more sentences follow the colon, capitalize the first word of each sentence following.
Examples:
I enjoy reading: novels by Kurt Vonnegut are among my favorites.
Garlic is used in Italian cooking: It greatly enhances the flavor of pasta dishes. It also enhances the flavor of eggplant.

So, I should have said:
James isn't really the What He Wore type: he even blogged about it on his tumblr.

Is that how you interpret the rule??

What He Wore 1

The other day I noticed that none of Amby's shoes fit anymore. Well, it's no wonder- he's been wearing them for 6 months! I went to Target and looked at the baby boy shoes, but I told Am that I'd rather put him in sparkly girl shoes than anything as ugly as all those boring khaki lumps. Then we went to Salvation Army and found these adorable navy blue vintage leather shoes. And they fit with some room to grow! Oh, happy me.

shirt: thrifted
suspender pants: thrifted/vintage
socks: circo

FYI: Ambrose's powdery soft, gently curling, reddish-brown hair is one of the sweetest blessings I've been given. That and the part of his face where the cheek meets the neck in a cushion of squishy cuddles.
