While Daddy Was At Work

We had breakfast.

We said our ABC.

We read stories, then Beatrice watched Baby Bach...

...while Ambrose looked for toys under Bea's bed before taking a little nap.

When he woke up...

...it was almost lunch time!

Then Moma came over to bring the new toy organizer and stayed to play a bit:

Uh-oh, nap time. But Beatrice didn't mind!

Amby took a little longer to settle and made a mess of some books on his way.

Ahh, one of Mama's favorite parts of the day! Both babies sleeping and a quiet house.

It was a nice long naptime and this girl woke up happy.

All that's left is waiting for our favorite person to come home!

Notice Bea had to have an outfit change after lunch? :)

Listing

This week I have felt pretty hemmed in. I've been stranded because we have one car and James usually drives it to work. The kids and I have plenty to do, but sometimes all the activities run together in the endless-endless of mamahood.

But today was better. I made a list. I get so much more done and end the day with a sense of accomplishment when I go by a list. And I find that I do a lot more than I set out to do because a schedule makes time. Out of thin air.

My list had some revisions through the day, but it basically went like this:

I got a bit side-tracked in the afternoon when Lucy and Isobel came over. They saw that I only had 1 chapter left in the last HP book and offered to watch the kids while I got through. I needed that! AND Isobel made cookies!!

As always, there were random chunks of time throughout the day when I was on the floor being silly with my babies. :)

Sunshine Girl!

Today Beatrice went down to Butler Springs. . .

At first, she hated the swings. . .

So she did other things. . .

Swingin' with Daddy in the bright sunlight. . .

Swingin' on your own, now that's alright!

What We've Been Up To...

We just wrapped up our run of a neat new play, The Toymaker and the Spy by Art Van Delay.

James starred as Rupert, the eccentric British toymaker.
Lily played Nastasia, the sensual, Russian secret agent.
She spies on Rupert, mistaking him for an enemy double agent.
He mistakes her for a new hire at his factory. He shows her the ropes...
...and they fall in love.
She reveals her true identity and he flips! But before they can patch things up...
NUCLEAR WAR BREAKS OUT!!!
